Notes from the artist's husband . . .

What can we say about this Zebra? How does he differ from the horse? Is there a wild streak not present in domesticated equine? What about the non-domesticated horse, is there a difference? Look into the eyes of the horse and the zebra and see if you can decern the difference.

Zebras are African equines with distinctive black-and-white striped coats. There are three living species: the Grévy's zebra, the plains zebra, and the mountain zebra. Zebras share the genus Equus with horses and asses, the three groups being the only living members of the family Equidae. (Wikipedia)
